Public Note for CCDS 27536.1
The coding region has been updated to extend the N-terminus to one that is more supported by the available transcript data. It should be noted that this N-terminal extension is specific to mouse and rat. The updated start codon has a strong Kozak signal, as does the much better conserved downstream start codon, and it is therefore expected that the upstream start codon would be used according to the ribosome scanning model. There is no experimental evidence indicating which start codon is preferentially used in vivo.
