Killer toxin-resistance protein 1
The killer toxin-resistance protein 1 family are GPI-anchored plasma membrane proteins, found in yeast. They are involved in 1,6-beta-glucan formation and in the assembly and architecture of the cell wall. They also act as plasma membrane receptors for the yeast K1 viral toxin, and are involved in subsequent lethal channel formation. The family also includes Pga1 proteins, which have a role in oxidative stress response and in adhesion and biofilm formation.
