Contact ncbi-contacts@bcm.tmc.edu for more information.
The beneficial mite Metaseiulus occidentalis genome sequencing and assembly was funded by Dr. Marjorie Hoy at the University of Florida at Gainesville.
DNA inbred for 10 generations was provided by Dr. Hoy. We generated 15X ... coverage using 454 XLR technology, with an additional 30X clone coverage in 3kb and 8kb insert pe sequencing all generated on the 454 platform.
We assembled the genome using the Celera assembler (Science 287:2196-2204). Small and redundant contigs were omitted from the assembly.
In July 2022 152 sequences were suppressed because they were found to be contaminants. more
