Fetal cortical transcriptomic changes after oxytocin induced aberrant uterine contractility (Norway rat)

See Genome Information for Rattus norvegicus
We report changes in the fetal brain cortical transcriptome after oxytocin-induced aberrant uterine contractility using unbiased RNA-seq analysis. Overall design: We performed RNA-seq analysis to examine differential gene expression in the E21 fetal cortex 24 h after maternal administration of either oxytocin (100 mcg/kg i.v; n = 5 pups from 5 independent dams) or same volume of saline (5 pups from 5 independent mothers). With an FDR adjusted p < 0.05, only mt-nd2 was determined to be significantly differentially expressed in the fetal brain after maternal oxytocin.
