The spatio-temporal expression patterns of RNA and comparisons between different developmental stages have been one of the useful techniques for studying animal physiology and functional gene regulations. A Chinese indigenous breed Ningxiang pig is known for its quality meat production, disease resistance and slow growth performances in pig industry. To gain a better understanding of pig lipid metabolic, we comprehensively analyzed the whole transcriptome of the skeletal muscle, fat and liver from four important developmental nodes of Ningxiang pig at 30, 90, 150 and 210 days of age. To a certain extent, these data indicate that circRNA is highly abundant in muscle, fat and liver, and is dynamically expressed in a spatiotemporal manner. These results suggest that circRNAs play an important role in fat metabolism of Ningxiang pigs. Our findings also provide new ideas and perspectives for the study of Ningxiang pigs' lipid metabolism regulation pathway and meat quality traits.
