We determined the whole genome sequence of Clostridium botulinum type B strain 111_delta2. Clostridium botulinum is a Gram-positive, spore-forming, anaerobic, rod-shaped bacterium that produces botulinum neurotoxins that cause serious paralytic illness known as 'botulism'. Strain 111 was isolated from the first case of type B infant botulism in Japan, 1995. An isolate of strain 111 (111_delta2) that was incapable of heat-resistant spore formation was appeared by serial passages.
