The DNA originated from two animals, a father-daughter pair: Hereford bull L1 Domino 99375, registration number 41170496; and his daughter L1 Dominette 01449, registration number 42190680. The male DNA was from Michael MacNeil's laboratory, USDA-ARS, Miles City, Montana, and the female DNA was provided by Timothy Smith's laboratory, US Meat Animal Research Center, Clay Center, Nebraska.
