Description

Rousettus aegyptiacus (Egyptian fruit bat) is a bat species in the family of Pteropodidae. Its distribution covers Africa, the Middle East, the Mediterranean, and the Indian subcontinent. The sample was collected by Sonja Vernes from a captive colony in Berkeley, USA. This sample is being used to generate chromosomal level reference assembly as part of the Bat1K Project.
