Molecular mechanisms vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) acquisition of macrophage features in response to cholesterol loading

(Submitter supplied) In this study, murine primary aortic smooth muscle cells (SMCs) were transcriptionally profiled at baseline, after 3 d of cholesterol loading, and after 3 d of subsequent cholesterol unloading with HDL treatment, to identify vascular SMC genes that are transcripionally dysregulated in response to cholesterol loading and/or unloading.

Cross-Species Genome Wide Expression Analysis during Pluripotent Cell Determination in Mouse and Rat Preimplantation Embryos

(Submitter supplied) The transition between morula and blastocyst stage during preimplantation development represents the first differentiation event of embryogenesis. Morula cells undergo the first cellular specialization and produce two well-defined populations of cells, the trophoblast and the inner cell mass (ICM). Embryonic stem cells (ESCs) with unlimited self-renewal capacity are believed to represent the in vitro counterpart of the ICM. more...

Response of Atf3-/- and WT BMDMs to treatment with LPS for 4 h

(Submitter supplied) Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by the accumulation of lipid-loaded macrophages in the arterial wall. Intimal macrophages internalize modified lipoproteins such as oxidized LDL (oxLDL) through scavenger receptors, leading to storage of excess cholesteryl esters in lipid bodies and a "foam cell" phenotype. In addition, stimulation of macrophage Toll-like receptors (TLRs) has been shown to promote lipid body proliferation. more...

[Mouse430_2] Affymetrix Mouse Genome 430 2.0 Array [CDF: Mouse4302_Mm_ENSG v13]

(Submitter supplied) This is identical to GPL1261 but a custom cdf environment was used to extract data. We used custom chip definition files (CDF) based on Ensembl gene annotation v13.
