Interfering with interferons: cholesterol modification by Helicobacter pylori prevents IFN receptor assembly

Here we show that Helicobacter pylori, a chronic colonizer of gastric mucosal surfaces, effectively blocks both type I and type II IFN signalling via cholesterol-α-glucosyltransferase (CaGT).
