Genome-wide identification of transcripts associated with lncRNA-ATB by RIP-seq

(Submitter supplied) The role of TGF-β-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in cancer cell dissemination is well established, but the involvement of lncRNAs in TGF-β signaling is still unknown. In this study, we observed that the lncRNA-Activated by TGF-β (lncRNA-ATB) was upregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) metastases and associated with poor prognosis. lncRNA-ATB upregulated ZEB1 and ZEB2 by competitively binding the miR-200 family and then induced EMT and invasion. more...

Long non-coding RNAs and mRNAs regulated by TGF-β

(Submitter supplied) The role of TGF-β-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in cancer cell dissemination is well established, but the involvement of lncRNAs in TGF-β signaling is still unknown. In this study, we observed that the lncRNA-Activated by TGF-β (lncRNA-ATB) was upregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) metastases and associated with poor prognosis. lncRNA-ATB promotes the invasion-metastasis cascade, which suggest that lncRNA-ATB, a mediator of TGF-β signaling, could predispose HCC patients to metastases and may serve as a potential target for anti-metastatic therapies.

Cancer associated-mesenchymal stem cells accelerate hepatocellular carcinoma progression though lncRNA-MUF-miR-34a-Snail1 axis

(Submitter supplied) Recently, long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been implicated in diverse processes of hepatocarcinogenesis. However, the involvement of lncRNAs in the crosstalk between LC-MSCs microenvironment and HCC progression is still unknown. In this study, for the first time, we investigated the role of lncRNAs in the crosstalk between HCC cells and LC-MSCs. We found that LC-MSCs acted as a pivotal contributor to HCC metastasis, cancer stem cell maintenance and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT).

The lncRNA expression profiles in hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines under sulfatide treatment

(Submitter supplied) Sulfatide significantly promoted hepatocellular carcinoma cells survival, proliferation and angiogenesis. To understand the molecular mechanisms of sulfatide, the transcriptional profiles of lncRNAs in human hepatocellular carcinoma cells SMMC-7721 was investigated with ArrayStar lncRNA microarray with sulfatide treatment. Galactose-cerebroside treatment served as the control.

Invasion and metastasis related long non-coding RNA expression profiles in hepatocellular carcinoma

(Submitter supplied) Aberrant expression of LncRNAs might be responsible for the HCC invasion and metastasis. we employed the LncRNAs microarray technology to study the LncRNAs expression profiles at genome-wide in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)tissue samples with early recurrence (less than 1 year, with invasion and metastasis out of liver) and late recurrence (longer than 2 years, without invasion and metastasis out of liver), which had different recurrent/metastatic potentials, by using normal liver tissue as control to screen the dysregulated LncRNAs which are potentially involved in the recurrence, invasion and metastasis process of HCC

Long noncoding RNA expression profiles in sub-lethal heat treated hepatoma carcinoma cells. (SMMC-7721 cells: sub-lethal heat treated vs. untreated)

(Submitter supplied) Transcriptional profiling of SMMC-7721 cells comparing control untreated with sub-lethal heat treated cells (50°C for 10 min). Differentially expressed lncRNA and mRNA were measured with an Agilent Human lncRNA+mRNA Array V4.0 (4 × 180 K format) containing 41,000 lncRNAs and 34,000 mRNAs. Goal was to determine the effects of sub-lethal heat treatment on global hepatoma carcinoma cells gene expression.

The LINC01138 Drives Malignancies via Activating Arginine Methyltransferase 5 in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

(Submitter supplied) Our study have demonstrated LINC01138 acts as an oncogenic driver that promotes cell proliferation, tumourigenicity, tumour invasion and metastasis through physically interacting with Arginine Methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5) in HCC cells. In order to investigate the related signaling pathways regulated by LINC01138 or PRMT5, we performed the unbiased transcriptome profiling using high-throughput RNA sequencing in SMMC-7721 cells transfected with si-LINC01138 or si-PRMT5. more...
