LncRNAs expression signatures of cumulus cells isolated from PCOS patients revealed by microarray

(Submitter supplied) Our study is the first one to determine genome-wide lncRNAs expression patterns in cumulus cells of PCOS patients by microarray. The results displayed that clusters of lncRNAs (n=623) were aberrantly expressed in PCOS patients compared with non-PCOS patients. Many differentially expressed lncRNAs were transcribed from regions on chromosome 2 and classified into enhancer-like lncRNA subgroup. XLOC_011402 (PWRN2) was found for the first time that it was not only expressed in testis but also in cumulus cells. more...

Expression profiles of lncRNAs and mRNAs in KGN/shPWRN2 cell lines

(Submitter supplied) In this study, to identify the target genes of PWRN2, we first constructed lentivirus shRNA vectors to infect the KGN cell lines to gain three KGN/shPWRN2 cell lines with down-regulated PWRN2 expression levels. Then, the expression profiles of mRNAs and lncRNAs in KGN/shPWRN2 cells were determined by microarray. The results revealed thousands of lncRNAs and mRNAs expressed in KGN/shPWRN2. The expression of 176 lncRNAs significantly changed in KGN/shPWRN2 cell lines relative to control NC cell lines. more...

LncRNA and mRNA expression profiles from human GES-1 cells in response to Helicobacter pylori infection

(Submitter supplied) Research on lncRNAs expression profiles in human interactions with Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) is rare reported. We used HTA2.0 to investigate the expression changes of lncRNAs and mRNAs in human gastric epithelial cells (GES-1 cell line) infected with or without H.pylori infection. Our study provided a preliminary exploration of lncRNAs expression profiles in H.pylori-infected cell models by microarray. more...

The long noncoding RNA expression profile of human intervertebral disc degeneration identified by microarray analysis

(Submitter supplied) In addition to the well-known short noncoding RNAs as miRNAs, increasing evidence suggests that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) act as key regulators in a wide aspect of biologic processes. Dysregulated expression of lncRNAs has been demonstrated being implicated in a variety of human diseases. However, there is relative paucity of information regarding the role of lncRNAs in intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) hitherto. more...

Profiles for long noncoding RNAs in ovarian granulosa cells from polycystic ovary syndrome patients with different serum concentrations of androgen

(Submitter supplied) Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common reproductive system disease, with hyperandrogenism as the core feature. The pathologies remain to be illustrated. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) has been proved to be involved in various biological processes of human diseases. However, there were few reports about the research on lncRNAs in PCOS, not to mention hyperandrogenism.

Genome-wide analysis of long noncoding RNA expression profile in patients with Marjolin’s ulcer

(Submitter supplied) Marjolin’s Ulcer is an aggressive cutaneous malignancy that typically ensues over a period of time in the post-burned lesions and scars or any other chronic wound. Marjolin’s Ulcer makes up 1.2% of all skin cancers, it is reported that 2% of squamous cell carcinoma and 0.03% of basal cell carcinoma originate in burn scars. Recent studies have shown that long non-coding (lncRNA) plays critical roles in a myriad of biological processes and human diseases,Since the roles of lncRNA in Marjolin’s Ulcer remain unknown, they were investigated in the study. Our findings indicate that the expression profiles of lncRNAs has changed in Marjolin’s Ulcer as compared with normal skin and para-cancerous scar, and may provide novel insight into the molecular mechanism underlying the disease and potential novel diagnostic or therapeutic targets for Marjolin’s Ulcer.

Expression data from human cumulus cells isolated from oocytes at MI and MII stages in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) patients

(Submitter supplied) Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine and metabolic disorder that is characterized by increased circulating androgen levels, anovulatory infertility, and frequently, insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia. The abnormity of oocyte nuclear maturity is the main reason for anovulatory infertility and pregnancy loss in PCOS patients. The bidirectional exchanges between oocyte and contiguous CCs are important for oocyte competence acquisition, early embryonic development and CC expansion.Gene expression profiles of CCs has been suggested to predict embryo development and pregnancy outcome. more...

Long noncoding RNA and messenger RNA abnormalities in pediatric sepsis

(Submitter supplied) Sepsis represents a complex disease with dysregulated inflammatory response and high mortality rate. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been reported to play regulatory roles in a variety of biological processes. However, studies evaluating the function of lncRNAs in pediatric sepsis are scarce, and current knowledge of the role of lncRNAs in pediatric sepsis is still limited. We explored the expression patterns of both lncRNAs and mRNAs between pediatric sepsis patients and healthy controls based on a comprehensive microarray analysis.

(Submitter supplied) Transcriptional profiling of SMMC-7721 cells comparing control untreated with sub-lethal heat treated cells (50°C for 10 min). Differentially expressed lncRNA and mRNA were measured with an Agilent Human lncRNA+mRNA Array V4.0 (4 × 180 K format) containing 41,000 lncRNAs and 34,000 mRNAs. Goal was to determine the effects of sub-lethal heat treatment on global hepatoma carcinoma cells gene expression.

Systematic identification and comparison of expressed profiles of lncRNAs and circRNAs in male and female germline stem cells

(Submitter supplied) Male and female germline stem cells are critical for passing genetic information from generation to generation. Accumulating evidences indicate that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs) play important roles in self-renewal and differentiation of germline stem cells. However, the mechanisms remain largely unknown. In this study, we explored the mRNAs, lncRNAs and circRNAs expression profiles of male and female germline stem cells through high-throughput sequencing.
