Study of transcriptional effects of drugs on SNU-423 hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines

(Submitter supplied) Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the second most common cause of cancer-related death worldwide. Like in many cancers, tumor heterogeneity in HCC hampers the development of personalized therapies. Integrative genomics contributed to characterize HCC subtypes by identifying specific genetic alterations and molecular signatures, leading to targeted drug candidates. However, no consensus was achieved for genes and pathways recurrently altered in HCC. more...

Prospective gene expression analysis of human RNA samples from Hepatocellular Carcinoma in relation with growth rate and survival

(Submitter supplied) The aim of this study is to identify by whole genome microarray expression profiling a molecular signature of HCC samples that correlates with growth rate of the tumor and survival. This signature could eventually be used as prognostic marker. The samples were prospectively derived from hepatocellular carcinoma tissue as well as non-tumor tissue from the livers of the same patients. Expression of five genes (ANGPT2, NETO2,NR4A1,DLL4,ESM1) from this signature was re-evaluated in a validation cohort by real-time PCR, confirming its correlation with growth rate and survival.

Comparison of HCC cell lines and primary HCCs-RNAseq data

(Submitter supplied) There are concerns about whether cancer cell lines could faithfully represent the matched primary cancer cells. Comparison of the HCC cell lines and primary HCCs demonstrated that, during long-term in vitro culture, cell lines retain the genetic landscape of the matched primary HCCs.
