Transcriptome of Chinese sturgeon (Acipenser sinensis) from the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonad axis in two sex development stages

(Submitter supplied) Here, the HPG axis transcriptomes of A. sinensis were sequenced using Illumina HiSeq 2000 and 4000 platforms. A total of 271.19 Gb filtered data from 45 samples belonging to 15 individuals (six individuals in stage I, six males and three females in stage II) were obtained, and 74.50% of 121,952 assembled unigenes were annotated to the non-redundant (NR), Swiss-Prot, Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG), Cluster of Orthologous Groups of proteins (COG), InterPro, Gene Ontology (GO) and NT databases. more...

Transcriptome profiling reveals cleft palate-related genes in Chinese sturgeon (Acipenser sinensis)

(Submitter supplied) The Chinese sturgeon (Acipenser sinensis) is anadromous fish distributed in Yangtze River and East China Sea. In this study, we reported cleft-palate Chinese sturgeons in artificial population for the first time. In order to explore the genetic basis of palate malformation in A. sinensis, Illumina RNA-seq technology was used to analyze the transcriptome data of normal and cleft-palate individuals in farmed Chinese sturgeons. more...

Gene expression in sexually differentiating gonads of Xenopus laevis

(Submitter supplied) The aim of this study was to study the gene expression profile in developing female and male gonads of Xenopus laevis at four stages: at the Nieuwkoop-Faber stage 50 (genital ridge), at NF53 (sex-determining period), NF56 (the onset of sexual differentiation), NF62 (gonads sexually differentiated).
