Identification of differentially expressed genes in equine endometrium at day 8 and 12 of pregnancy

(Submitter supplied) In order to systematically analyze the maternal, i.e. the endometrial, changes in the equine endometrium underlying the complex embryo-maternal dialogue during early pregnancy, a transcriptome study of endometrium samples from five mares at day 8 and six mares at day 12 of early pregnancy and the corresponding non-pregnant stage was performed.

Differential expression of mRNAs in porcine endometrium

(Submitter supplied) The study allowed for the determination of the mRNAs that were differentially expressed in porcine endometrium on different gestational day and breed. The majority of the mRNAs were differentially expressed during the implantation stage. This study will provide the information to better understanding of the role of these differently expressed mRNAs in the porcine endometrium during pregnancy. Affymetrix mRNA arrays were used to generate mRNA profiles of on the endometrium of Meishan and Yorkshire pigs on days 15 (implantation stage), 26 (post-implantation stage) and 50 (mid-gestation stage) of gestation.

Endometrial gene expression profiling in pregnant Meishan and Yorkshire pigs on day 12 of gestation

(Submitter supplied) BACKGROUND: Litter size in pigs is a major factor affecting the profitability in the pig industry. The peri-implantation window in pigs is characterized by the coordinated interactions between the maternal uterine endometrium and the rapidly elongating conceptuses and represents a period of time during which a large percentage of the developing conceptuses are lost. However, the gene expression and regulatory networks in the endometrium contributing to the establishment of the maternal: placental interface remain poorly understood. more...

Transcriptional regulation of aldo-keto reductase 1C1 in human colon cancer cells resistant to methotrexate

(Submitter supplied) The abstract of the associated publication (Selga E, Noé V, Ciudad CJ. Biochemical Pharmacology, 2008) is the following: While studying differentially expressed genes between sensitive and 10-5 M Methotrexate (MTX) resistant HT29 human colon cancer cells, we identified some members of the aldo-keto reductase (AKR) superfamily. The study was followed with the member AKR1C1 (EC 1.1.1.213), validating its increase in mRNA and protein levels in MTX resistant cells. more...

Deep sequencing of the porcine endometrial transcriptome on day 12 of pregnancy

(Submitter supplied) The porcine conceptus undergoes rapid differentiation and expansion of its trophoblastic membranes between Days 11 and 12 of gestation. Concomitant with trophoblast elongation, production of conceptus estrogen, the porcine embryonic pregnancy recognition signal increases. Conceptus attachment to the uterine surface epithelium starts after Day 13 initiating epitheliochorial placentation. To analyze the transcriptome changes in the endometrium in the course of maternal recognition of pregnancy (MRP), deep sequencing of endometrial RNA samples of Day 12 pregnant animals (n=4) and corresponding non-pregnant controls (n=4) was performed using Illumina RNA-Seq. more...

Endometrial luminal epithelium transcriptome during early diestrus defines pregnancy outcome in cattle

(Submitter supplied) Prior to implantation, embryonic development occurs in the confinement of the reproductive tract lumen. The endometrial epithelia determines the uterine luminal composition and, consequently, the molecular milieu available to the pre-implantation embryo. This cow RNA-seq study was especially designed to (i) evaluate the impact that progesterone concentration has on the transcriptome of luminal epithelial cells, and (ii) evaluate the impact that endometrial gene expression has on pregnancy outcome. more...

Deep Sequencing of the Porcine Endometrial Transcriptome on Day 14 of Pregnancy

(Submitter supplied) In pigs, conceptus attachment to the uterine surface epithelium starts around day 14 of pregnancy preceded by a pronounced vascularization at the implantation zones, initiating the epitheliochorial placentation. To characterize the complex transcriptome changes in the endometrium in the course of initial conceptus attachment deep sequencing of endometrial RNA samples of pregnant animals (n=4) and corresponding cyclic controls (n=4) was performed using Illumina RNA-Seq. more...

Global gene expression changes during the estrous cycle in equine endometrium

(Submitter supplied) The equine endometrium exhibits characteristic morphological and functional changes during the estrous cycle controlled by the interplay of progesterone and estradiol. A microarray analysis of endometrial tissue samples derived from 5 time points of the estrous cycle (D0, D3, D8, D12, and D16) was performed to study the dynamics of endometrial gene expression. Endometrial biopsies were collected from five mares (Bavarian Warmblood) at the respective time points. more...

Expression profile of early and mid-secretory human endometrium revealed by RNA-seq: a paired-sample cohort study

(Submitter supplied) Inner uterine lining or endometrium is a unique constantly self-renewed adult tissue that is vital for embryo implantation. As the footrace for universal endometrial receptivity markers continues, RNA-seq remains the most powerful tool for transcriptomic marker discovery. In this study, we aimed to elucidate endometrial maturation mechanisms at transcriptomic level and identify novel robust biomarker candidates for endometrial receptivity in a multicentre study. more...

Cell Type-specific Analysis of Transcriptome Changes in the Porcine Endometrium on Day 12 of Pregnancy

(Submitter supplied) the aim of this present study was to characterize the complex transcriptome changes in different endometrial cell types during the preimplantation period for improving our understanding of localization of endometrial gene expression regulation in context of recognition of pregnancy. To do this analysis in a transcriptome-wide manner, RNA-seq was performed for samples derived from luminal epithelium (LE), glandular epithelium (GE), and stroma (S) isolated by the use of LCM

LncRNA and mRNA expression profiles from human GES-1 cells in response to Helicobacter pylori infection

(Submitter supplied) Research on lncRNAs expression profiles in human interactions with Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) is rare reported. We used HTA2.0 to investigate the expression changes of lncRNAs and mRNAs in human gastric epithelial cells (GES-1 cell line) infected with or without H.pylori infection. Our study provided a preliminary exploration of lncRNAs expression profiles in H.pylori-infected cell models by microarray. more...
