Transcriptomic changes associated with deletion of Rv3143 from Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv in relation to wild-type strain grown in 7H9/OADC medium

(Submitter supplied) RNA-Seq results accompanying submission of a manuscript: "The orphan response regulator Rv3143 modulates the activity of the NADH dehydrogenase complex (Nuo) in Mycobacterium tuberculosis via protein-protein interactions" describing the function of the Rv3143 "orphan" response regulator of the two-component signal transduction systems family, which enable mycobacterial cells to quickly adapt and adequately respond to adverse environmental conditions encountered at various stages of host infection. more...

Lsr2 and its novel paralogue mediate the adjustment of Mycobacterium smegmatis to unfavorable environmental conditions

(Submitter supplied) In this study, we analyze the role of Lsr2 as a transcription factor in M. smegmatis, a saprophytic bacterium whose natural habitat (soil and water) substantially differs from that of the obligatory mycobacterial pathogens. In summary, the combined RNA-seq and ChIP-seq data revealed that Lsr2 controls gene expression either directly by binding their promoter regions or indirectly through DNA loop formation.

LIX75 vs H37Rv under Log phase growth (± 5 mM Nitrate), and during hypoxic growth (48 h)

(Submitter supplied) Transcription analysis of ΔnarL mutant (LIX75) versus wild type H37Rv during aerobic growth in absence or presence of 5 mM Nitrate, and during hypoxic growth. This will elucidate the regulatory role of NarL response regulator duirng aerobic growth in absence of presence of exogenous nitrate supplemen and during hypoxic growth conditions and help identify genes that require NarL for expression under the three experimental conditions.

Mycofactocin is associated with ethanol metabolism in Mycobacteria

(Submitter supplied) Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) assimilates cholesterol during chronic infection, and its in vitro growth in presence of cholesterol requires Mycofactocin (MFT) biosynthesis genes, although the basis of this requirement is unclear. MFT belongs to the class of ribosomally synthesized and post-translationally modified peptides conserved in many Actinobacteria, and its biological function and structure requires further confirmation. more...
