Protein kinase C alpha deficiency effect on small intestine

Analysis of small intestines of adult animals containing a homozygous null deletion of the gene for protein kinase C alpha (PKCa). PKCa knockouts show an elevated tendency to develop spontaneous intestinal tumors. Results provide insight into the role of the PKCa isoform in colorectal cancer.
