Spermine-induced DNA methylation change in human macrophages

(Submitter supplied) Polyamines, crucial molecules involved in cell proliferation and growth, play a pivotal role in cancer development and progression. Within the tumor microenvironment, macrophages, key components of the immune system, exhibit a complex relationship with polyamines. Evidence suggests that polyamines can modulate macrophage polarization, influencing their functional phenotypes. Here, we detected the gene DNA methylation changes in spermine-stimulated human macrophages isolated from PBMCs and TAMs.

The Fur-like regulatory protein MAP3773c modulates key metabolic pathways in Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis under in-vitro iron starvation

(Submitter supplied) Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP) carries MAP3773c, a putative metal regulator, on its genome which is absent in other mycobacteria. Homologues of this gene in enterobacteria have roles in global iron regulation and homeostasis. The role of MAP3773c in regulating intracellular iron in MAP is poorly understood. Characterization of the inflammatory phenotype of Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis

RNA-seq analysis of Mycobacterium avium TMC724 vs. M. avium 104 non-coding and coding transcriptome

(Submitter supplied) Deep sequencing was implemented to study the transcriptional landscape of Mycobacterium avium TMC724. High-resolution transcriptome analysis identified the transcription start points for 652 genes. One third of these coincided with the start codons and therefore belong to leaderless transcripts, whereas the rest of the transcripts had 5' UTRs with the mean length of 83 nt.
