Summary
This region contains multiple conserved elements and DNase I hypersensitive sites. It includes the E8(I) enhancer of Cd8a (CD8a molecule), which promotes expression of this gene in T cells, peripheral T lymphocytes, and intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes (IELs). Deletion of this sequence results in loss of Cd8a expression in IELs. Association of Ikaros zinc finger protein with this region can suppress position effect variegation of a transgene. RefSeqs maintained independently of Annotated Genomes

These reference sequences exist independently of genome builds. Explain

These reference sequences are curated independently of the genome annotation cycle, so their versions may not match the RefSeq versions in the current genome build. Identify version mismatches by comparing the version of the RefSeq in this section to the one reported in Genomic regions, transcripts, and products above.
