Summary: This region represents the promoter of the deltaNp63 alternate variant of the tumor protein p63 gene. Activity of this promoter is regulated by p53, p73, and p63, though the direction of regulation may depend on dosage and context. This promoter is also induced by binding of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 to this sequence.
