    Summary
Enables C-X3-C chemokine binding activity and C-X3-C chemokine receptor activity. Involved in several processes, including leukocyte migration; nervous system development; and synapse organization. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including macrophage chemotaxis; microglial cell activation involved in immune response; and negative regulation of extrinsic apoptotic signaling pathway in absence of ligand. Located in cell surface. Is expressed in several structures, including colon; genitourinary system; and liver. Used to study age related macular degeneration 12. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including human immunodeficiency virus infectious disease; obesity; pulmonary hypertension; retinal disease (multiple); and systemic scleroderma. Orthologous to human CX3CR1 (C-X3-C motif chemokine receptor 1). [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Apr 2022]

RefSeqs maintained independently of Annotated Genomes

These reference sequences exist independently of genome builds. Explain

These reference sequences are curated independently of the genome annotation cycle, so their versions may not match the RefSeq versions in the current genome build. Identify version mismatches by comparing the version of the RefSeq in this section to the one reported in Genomic regions, transcripts, and products above.
