    Urinary tract pacemaker cells expressing cKIT and the neural crest markers Sox10 and Tfap-2alpha were enriched for RNA encoding PTK2b. PTK2b was expressed in neural crest cells at embryonic day 15.5 and utPMCs until postnatal week 8. Inhibiting PTK2b inhibited contraction of pyeloureteral tissue.
