The results provided evidence that the expression changes of CD200-CD200R1 axis were highly correlated with neovascularization in retina. Activation of this axis showed strong anti-inflammatory and anti-angiogenic effects in an oxygen-induced retinopathy model, which revealed a new potential therapeutic target for retinal neovascularization treatment.

blockade of the endogenous ligand CD200 prevented the tumorigenic effect of CD200R-expressing myeloid cells in the tumor microenvironment, whereas agonistic anti-CD200R has no effect on tumor development

The pro-tumor effect of CD200 expression is not mimicked by agonistic CD200R antibodies.

Study in CD200R-/- mice revealed that CD200R deficiency leads to enhanced bacterial burden in neutrophils. CD200R-deficient neutrophils display significantly reduced reactive oxygen species production (ROS), suggesting that CD200R-mediated ROS production in neutrophils is necessary for limiting F.tularensis colonization and proliferation. Overall, data show that CD200R promotes the antimicrobial properties of neutrophils.
