Title |
Genome-wide DNA methylation change in mice liver due to overnight fasting |
Organism |
Mus musculus |
Experiment type |
Methylation profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
We used Methyl-MiniSeq platform from Zymo Research company to identify genome-wide methylation changes affected by overnight fasting in mice liver. Compared to control mice liver, we observed extensive genome-wide methylation patern changes in fasted mice liver, with some genes showing incresed methylation, others showing decreased methylation, and the rest with no significant change.

Overall design |
12-week-old mice were either untreated or fasted for 12 hr and then sacrificed by ether anesthesia followed by cervical dislocation. Liver samples were collected and snap frozen in liquid nitrogen and stored at -80°C. Genomic DNA was extracted from liver samples and subjected to genome-wide DNA methylation mapping using the platform of an improved version of Reduced Representation Bisulfite Sequencing (RRBS).
