Title High-throughput sequencing analysis of miRNAs expression profiles in the thoracic ascending aortic aneurysm (TAA) tissues and plasma samples.
Organism Homo sapiens
Experiment type Non-coding RNA profiling by high throughput sequencing
Summary In the present study, we evaluated miRNA expression profiles of 32 patient aortic aneurysm tissue and plasma samples using Illumina next-generation sequencing platform. A total of 20 miRNA were differentially expressed in tissues, 17 miRNAs - in plasma samples.
Differentially expressed miRNAs determined in the present study could be applied for thoracic ascending aneurysm diagnosis.

Overall design For the tissue analysis, 8 TAA samples and 6 healthy aortic control samples were collected. The 3 of 7 TAA plasma samples were isolated from the same patients, which were included in the TAA tissue group. Moreover, 4 plasma samples from the same TAA patients 3 months after the surgery were investigated. A control group of 7 plasma samples was isolated from unrelated healthy patients. All samples were analyzed using Illumina MiSeq v2 miRNA sequencing by Illumina MiSeq system.
