Title |
Expression data from mouse brain in response to intracerebral LPS challenge |
Organism |
Mus musculus |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by array
|
Summary |
A model of self-limiting acute brain inflammation induced by intracerebral injection of LPS was validated in the mouse tailored to enable study of inflammation resolution. Transcriptome-wide changes in gene expression were assessed by microarray at induction and resolution phases of the inflammatory response

Overall design |
C57Bl/6J mice received intrastriatal injection of LPS or PBS and brain samples were dissected from the injected hemisphere after transcardiac saline perfusion for mRNA and miRNA extraction. Samples were collected 1 d after LPS (induction phase, n=9), 4 d after LPS (resolution phase, n=9) or 4 d after PBS (n=9) treatments. For each treatment group, samples were pooled to form three biological replicates for microarray i.e. each replicate comprised a pooled RNA sample derived from 3 different mice (with equivalent quantity of RNA from each constituent sample).
