Summary |
Using various animal models, epigenetic mechanisms have been shown to be mediating the negative effects of chronic stressful events on the progression of depression and other neuropsychiatric disorders. However, non-coding RNAs, another layer of epigenetic regulation is relatively lesser studied in this context. We used miRNA array to uncover dysregulation in miRNA-mRNA networks in the neurogenic dentate gyrus (DG) region of chronic social defeat stress (CSDS)-induced depressed mice

Overall design |
2 groups of adult male mice were used for the experiments where one group was subjected to 10 days of CSDS while other was used as control. DG was dissected out from these mice followed by RNA isolation. n=4 samples from each group where every sample was prepared by pooling equal amount of RNA from DG of the 3 individual mice
