Title |
Gene expression profiles of mice with juvenile HFD exposure for one week |
Organism |
Mus musculus |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
The objective of this study is to determine the gene expression changes in mice after acute exposure to an high fat diet during the developing phase and whether these changes can predispose mice to altered outcomes later in life.

Overall design |
Male C57BL/6J mice were fed a chow diet from weaning up until 6 wks of age. Some mice were fasted for 16 h before being sacrificed. From 6-7wks, the control group (CD) ate a control diet (CD; 10% of total calories from fat), whereas the juvenile exposure group (HFD) were fed a high fat diet (HFD; 45% total calories from fat). Both groups were maintained on a chow diet during the wks 7-10, after which all mice were placed on the same HFD until they reached 22 wk of age.
