Growth protocol Wild type and knockout mice were fed a chow diet after weaning for the entire duration of the experiment. Young mice were sacrificed at 1 month and old mice were sacrificed at 21-23 months.
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol RNA was extracted with Trizol reagent, and then transferred to QIAGEN RNeasy columns and Dnase I treated according to the prescribed protocol provided with the kit. Quality control and RNA concentration were determined using Nanodrop and Agilent Bioanalyser.
