Treatment protocol Mice were treated with total body irradiation using an XRAD320 Biological Irradiator (Precision X-Ray, North Branford, CT).
Growth protocol Total RNA was extracted from the spleens immediately after harvesting from mice 24 hours after total body irradiation, or from resting mice for un-irradiated controls.

Extraction protocol Total RNA was isolated from whole splenocytes homogenized with a rotor-stator device in TRIzol (Invitrogen) followed by RNeasy purification. Samples quality was checked using an Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer.

Description TBI - 400 cGy
Data processing Array images were processed with Agilent Feature Extraction software version 10.5.1.1. Array data files were filtered to remove positive and negative control features and any features flagged as non-uniform outliers or population outliers, as recommended by Agilent. Log-transformed signal intensity values were then globally normalized using the percentile shift algorithm, shifting to the 75th percentile of each sample, followed by baseline shifting to the median of all samples.
