Growth protocol 6 week old male C57BL6J and DBA2J mice were purchased from Jackson Laboratories and maintained in our animal care facility for 1 week prior to use
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol Peritoneal lavage was collected sterily by injection and collection of PBS into the peritoneal cavity. Extracted lavage was centrifuged and supernatent was discarded. Cell pellets were treated with Trizol. Trizol extraction of total RNA was performed according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Label Biotin
Label protocol Biotinylated cRNA were prepared according to the standard Affymetrix protocol from 6 ug total RNA (Expression Analysis Technical Manual, 2001, Affymetrix).
 
Hybridization protocol Following fragmentation, 10 ug of cRNA were hybridized for 16 hr at 45C on GeneChip Drosophila Genome Array. GeneChips were washed and stained in the Affymetrix Fluidics Station 400.
Scan protocol GeneChips were scanned using the Hewlett-Packard GeneArray Scanner G2500A.
Description Transcription profile of peritoneal lavage cells 3 days post infection with Chlamydia psittaci
Data processing The data were analyzed with Robust multiple array average using default analysis settings and global scaling as normalization method. RMA data normalized to 8 with SD of 2 units.
