Treatment protocol The colony of GHS rats were created by the selective breeding of male and female SD rats with the highest 24 hour urine excretions (doi: 10.3390/ijms160716313). By the 28th generation, GHS rats stably excreted significantly higher levels of urine calcium than wild-type normal SD rats.
Growth protocol all rats were acclimated at 23℃ on a 12 h light/dark and fed with 13 g/d of a normal calcium diet in the SPF level animal house.
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol RNA was extracted using RNeasy Fibrous Tissue kit (Qiagen) according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Label biotin
Label protocol About 1ug total RNA were polyA tailed and labled with FlashTag™ Biotin HSR Labeling Kit(Affymetrix, Santa Clara, CA, USA).
 
Hybridization protocol The labled RNA were hybridized for 16 hr at 60 rpm at 48C on Affymetrix miRNA4.0 Array. GeneChips were washed and stained in the Affymetrix Fluidics Station 450.
Scan protocol GeneChips were scanned using the Affymetrix GeneChip Scanner 3000 7G
Description Male SD rats with a body weight of 250-280g, and fed with 13 g/d of a normal calcium diet (1.2% calcium, 0.65% phosphorus, 0.43% chloride, 0.4% sodium, and 0.24% magnesium per 1 g of food)
Data processing Raw data files were analyzed by using Affymetrix Expression Console with the default miRNA array settings. Raw data were processed and normalized on basis of organism rat using RMA-DABG algorithm.
