Wild type and transgenic mice were grown in standard animal facility with 12 hour light/dark cycle, and 8-10 weeks-old-male-mice were used in this study

Extraction protocol |
Total RNA was isolated from wild type and transgenic heart homogenates using TRIzol reagent (Invitrogen), and a double strand cDNA library was constructed from 300 ng of purified RNA using a library synthesis kit (Sigma)

Array normalization was performed using the quantile normalization method of Bolstad et al (Bolstad, Irizarry et al., 2003). n-fold change ratios for a particular gene in calreticulin transgenic and control heart were calculated using the RMA-processed expression values (RMA calls)
