Extraction protocol Total RNA was extracted from frozen individual dissected cerebellar external granular layer and treated with DNAse using RNeasy Minikit (Qiagen) in accordance with the manufacturer's protocol. RNA quality and quantity were then checked on the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer with RNA 6000 NanoChips (Agilent Technologies).
Label biotin
Label protocol 50ng of total RNA was labeled using TotalPrep RNA Amplification kit from Ambion following the manufacturer's instructions.
 
Hybridization protocol Hybridization was performed by Integragen (Evry - France) following Illumina's instructions.
Scan protocol Scan was performed by Integragen (Evry - France) following Illumina's instructions with standard scan factors.
Description Illumina provides one expression value per gene corresponding to the mean of at least 20 beads on the microarray. Genes were considered to be expressed if their detection p-value (provided by Illumina) was less than 0.01.
Data processing Filtered data were processed under R software for normalization by the mean and Student t-test.
