Myofibroblasts were solitarily as well as co-treated with either 8nM MIF or 40nM sCD74 for 8 hours.

Cardiac fibroblasts were isolated from hearts of neonatal wildtype mice (C57BL/6J) and maintained for 10 to 14 days in culture, where they fully differentiated into myofibroblasts.

Raw image data were analysed with Affymetrix® Expression Console™ Software (Affymetrix, USA), and gene expression intensities were normalized and summarized with SST robust multiarray average algorithm (Affymetrix): SST-RMA. Further analyses was performed using the Transcriptome Analysis Console (TAC) Software of Affymetrix.
