10 weeks double floxed homozygous AMPK alpha 1 and alpha2 mice were injected with AAV8-TBG-empty vector or AAV8-TBG-Cre (1x10^11 GC/mouse) through jugular vein, and then, treated with metformin (50 mg/kg/day) for another 3 weeks.

6 weeks old double floxed homozygous AMPK alpha 1 and alpha2 mice were fed on high-fat diet (60 % caloris) for 4 weeks. After the viral injection, mice were treated with metformin (50 mg/kg/day) for another three weeks before the termination of experiment.
