Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol RNAbee reagent extraction of total RNA was performed according to manufactuer's protocol. RNA was further purified using the Qiagen RNeasy kit. Quality of total RNA was evaluated by A260/A280 ratio and by electrophoresis on the Agilent Bioanalyzer.
Label biotin
Label protocol Biotinylated cRNA were prepared according to the recommended Affymetrix protocol from 5 ug total RNA.
 
Hybridization protocol Following fragmentation, 10 ug of cRNA were hybridized for 16 hr at 45C on Affymetrix Mouse 430 2.0 arrays. GeneChips were washed and stained in the Affymetrix Fluidics Station and stained with streptavidin phycoerythrin.
Scan protocol GeneChips were scanned using the Affymetrix GeneChip Scanner 3000.

Data processing The data were analyzedusing Affymetrix GeneChip Operating Software (GCOS) using Affymetrix default analysis settings and global scaling as normalization method. The trimmed mean target intensity of each array was arbitrarily set to 500.
