Extraction protocol Total RNA was extracted from combined ventral prostates of three 2.5 month old wild type mice after mincing with Biopulverizer (Biospec products) and using an RNAeasy RNA purification kit (Qiagen, Valencia, CA), including on-column DNase digestion to completely remove contaminating genomic DNA. RNA concentrations were determined in NanoDrop and the quality assessed using a Bioanalyzer.

Description The current array analysis was carried out to study the changes in the gene expression profile of 2.5 month old 15-LOX2 splice variant b (sv-b) transgenic mice (line svb9) ventral prostate (VP) compared to age matched wild type mice VP.
Data processing The data was acquired using Agilent's feature extraction software (version A.7.5.1) with inbuilt Lowess normalization feature and Logratio algorithms, for details visit www.agilent.com
