Human blood samples (n=5) were collected in accordance with approved human use protocols at USAMRICD. The test subjects were all Caucasian males ranging in age from 23-39 years of age at the time of the blood collection. All human test subjects were in apparent good health at the time of the blood collection. Whole blood tissue from each donor was collected using a 5 cc syringe and immediately injected into a PAXgene™ Blood RNA Collection Tube (PreAnalytiX, Franklin Lakes, NJ). Whole blood tissue was withdrawn from the right or left saphenous vein. Approximately 2.5 mL of whole blood tissue was obtained from the rhesus macaques. All samples were incubated in the PAXgene™ Blood RNA tube for 24 hrs at room temperature prior to RNA extraction. Keywords = blood Keywords = human Keywords = homo sapiens
