Treatment protocol Ferric Ammonium Citrate and/or Desferioxamine were added or not during three days each day when cells reached confluence.
Growth protocol The osteoblast-like MG-63 cells were maintained in minimum essential medium supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum, 2mM L-Glutamine, 1% non essential amino acids and 1% penicillin/streptomycin.
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol Total RNAs were extracted using the SV Total RNA Isolation System (Promega®).
Label Cy 3
Label protocol Total RNA (350ng) were amplified and labelled using a One Color Agilent’s low RNA Imput Linear Amplification Kit PLUS according to the manufacturer protocol (Agilent).
 
Hybridization protocol 1,65μg of each sample cRNA were hybridized using in situ Gene Expression Hybridization kit on Agilent Human Whole Genome Microarrays 4 × 44 K at 60°C, during 17h at 10rpm in the dark.
Scan protocol Slides were scanned with the dynamic autofocus G2565BA Agilent scanner.
Probe feature information was extracted using the Agilent Feature Extraction software v.10.7.

Data processing Raw intensities were log2-transformed and normalized (median centering within and between arrays) with GeneSpring GX software v11.5.
