Extraction protocol 9ml blood were collected and erythrocyte lysis using Qiagen Erythrocyte lysis buffer was performed immediately. White blood cells were washed in icecold PBS two times. Cells were then lysed using Trizol (Invitrogen).Phase lock gel tubes (Eppendorf) were used to extract the RNA containing phase. Total RNA was extracted from the tissue lysate using an RNeasy kit (Qiagen).
