For each individual sample, about 10-50mg flash frozen liver tissue piece was transfeered to -80oC cold RNALater-ICE (Ambion) and placed at -20oC overnight. Tissue was processed according to manufacture's protocol. Total RNA was extracted from the tissue lysate using an RNeasy kit (Qiagen).
