    Summary
    ymcE is transiently induced after a cold shock, dependent on the presence of PNPase. ymcE was misidentified as sfa in the Polissi et al. cold shock paper. [More information is available at EcoGene: EG13232]. YmcE was mistakenly thought to be a suppressor of fabA6, a temperature-sensitive unsaturated fatty acid auxotroph ; in fact, the suppressor localizes to the gnsA gene, which is located immediately downstream of ymcE .
