    Summary
Enables calcium channel regulator activity and protein kinase C activity. Involved in several processes, including modulation of chemical synaptic transmission; positive regulation of NF-kappaB transcription factor activity; and positive regulation of signal transduction. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including cellular calcium ion homeostasis; cellular response to carbohydrate stimulus; and response to hypoxia. Located in cytoplasm; membrane; and nucleus. Part of spectrin. Is active in calyx of Held and presynaptic cytosol. Is expressed in several structures, including central nervous system; genitourinary system; heart ventricle; retina; and salivary gland. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in dilated cardiomyopathy and lung non-small cell carcinoma. Orthologous to human PRKCB (protein kinase C beta). RefSeqs maintained independently of Annotated Genomes

These reference sequences exist independently of genome builds. Explain

These reference sequences are curated independently of the genome annotation cycle, so their versions may not match the RefSeq versions in the current genome build. Identify version mismatches by comparing the version of the RefSeq in this section to the one reported in Genomic regions, transcripts, and products above.
