Definition

Any structural abnormality of a lateral crico-arytenoid muscle, which extends from the lateral cricoid cartilage to the muscular process of the arytenoid cartilage, and can adduct the vocal cords, which closes the rima glottidis and thereby protects the airway. [from HPO]
