lysocin E [Supplementary Concept]
isolated from Lysobacter; structure in first source
Date introduced: April 19, 2015
Macrocyclic Compounds
Cyclic compounds with a ring size of approximately 1-4 dozen atoms.
Year introduced: 2005
Polycyclic Compounds
Compounds which contain two or more rings in their structure.
Year introduced: 2005(1974)
Peptides, Cyclic
Peptides whose amino acid residues are linked together forming a circular chain. Some of them are ANTI-INFECTIVE AGENTS; some are biosynthesized non-ribosomally (PEPTIDE BIOSYNTHESIS, NON-RIBOSOMAL).
Year introduced: 1973 (1971)
Peptides
Members of the class of compounds composed of AMINO ACIDS joined together by peptide bonds between adjacent amino acids into linear, branched or cyclical structures. OLIGOPEPTIDES are composed of approximately 2-12 amino acids. Polypeptides are composed of approximately 13 or more amino acids. PROTEINS are considered to be larger versions of peptides that can form into complex structures such as ENZYMES and RECEPTORS.
Amino Acids, Peptides, and Proteins
Amino acids and chains of amino acids connected by peptide linkages.
Year introduced: 1998
