Abstract

Objective: To provide readers with information on various techniques to improve future health behavior EFA research.

Methods: Data from a health education questionnaire development study are analyzed to make the discussion of techniques concrete.

Results: There are numerous strategies to use when making a factor retention decision.

Conclusions: The informed health-behavior researcher should use sophisticated factor retention techniques during EFAs.
