Analysis of synovial sarcoma-like tumors from transgenics expressing the chimeric human SYT-SSX2 fusion protein. The presence of SYT-SSX transcript is diagnostic for synovial sarcoma. Results provide insight into the role of the SYT-SSX2 fusion protein in the pathogenesis of synovial sarcoma.
