Humanized gnotobiotic mouse model response to foodborne enteropathogen Listeria monocytogenes: ileum
Summary:
Analysis of ileum from human enterocyte-associated E-cadherin receptor-expressing, germ-free transgenic mice (Fabpi-hEcad) colonized with wildtype L. monocytogenes or mutant strains with inlA, inlB, hly deletions. Results provide insight into host response to invasive foodborne enteropathogens.
