Analysis of liver from OLETF males treated with thiamine for 51 weeks. OLETF males exhibit progressive obesity and metabolic disorders similar to human metabolic syndrome. Thiamine mitigates the metabolic disorders. Results provide insight into the molecular basis of this protective effect.
